What is CBG?
Before you grow your own CBG strain with CBG seeds, it is important to know what CBG is.
CBG is one of the many cannabinoids found in cannabis and was discovered in 1965 by two Israeli chemists, but has remained underexposed for a long time. However, this non-acidic form of cannabigerol acid is the basic cannabinoid needed for the development of the most well-known and perhaps the most important cannabinoids such as CBD and THC.
In fact, CBG is a compound and perhaps one of the most essential cannabinoids of the cannabis plant because without CBG, the plant is not able to synthesize THC and CBD.
During its growth, the cannabis plant produces large quantities of CBG, which it then uses to produce THC and CBD. Typical cannabis plants therefore usually consist of 0.1% to 1% of CBG. Plants that are less able to produce CBG will naturally produce less THC and CBD. For many cannabis enthusiasts this is not a problem at all. Not everyone wants to get stoned or high, but they do want to enjoy the benefits.
Meaning: what does cbg stand for?
CBG stands for Cannabigerol which is one of the many cannabinoids found in cannabis strains.
The benefits of CBG (Cannabigerol)
CBG in itself is more than just a building block. Researchers have been investigating the benefits of this active substance in recent years and many scientific publications have now been published that confirm the benefits of this substance. For example, it has now been shown that CBG can play a very important role in the treatment of various conditions and diseases.
Cannabigerol activates the receptors (CB1 and CB2) of the endocannabinoid and therefore influences our central nervous system.

What is the effect of CBG?
Just like CBD, the effect of CBG is soothing and calming. But that's not all. In contrast to CBD and THC, little research has been done yet. However, the studies that have been done are very interesting.
Studies: What does cbg do?
In 2013, CBG was studied by the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Naples Federico II on an experimental model of inflammatory bowel diseases. The researchers discovered that CBG may also have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
In 2014, the medical journal PLoS One published a study showing that CBG products suppress the body's immune response. Researchers at the University of Reading found in 2016 and 2017 that CBG increases appetite.
Does CBG get you high?
No, CBG is not a psychonautical cannabinoid. Therefore, you do not feel stoned or high after using a CBG product. The effect can best be described as relaxing.
What else do you need to know about CBG?
- It is a natural substance
- The substance is legal
- CBG is not addictive
Grow your own plant with our CBG seeds
Due to the lack of attention for CBG, a very few broader species have focused their attention on the development of species with high levels of CBG. CBG seeds are therefore still scarce, but this is expected to change soon as more and more scientists are researching the effects of CBG on both the short and long term. However, there are already a few species available with relatively high levels of CBG. These high cbg strain seeds can be found in this category.
FAQ about CBG
As CBG is still a new term for many, many clients have questions about CBG. We therefore have compiled a list with the most frequently asked questions. Please see below.
Why are you still offering so few CBG seeds?
Currently only a few breeders are developing strain seeds. It is therefore quite difficult to get high quality CBG seeds. However, it is expected that our assortment will be expanded considerably in the coming years.
Is it better to grow your own CBG flower compared to buying the flower?
In some countries you can buy the CBD flower in dispensaries. However, this does not apply to most countries. Growing your own CBG strain is therefore an excellent solution.
Can I make CBG oil with the CBG flower?
After growing your CBG strain, you can decide to make your own CBG tincture. Think of an extract such as oil.
