Biggerbud420 wanted to run Maui Waui indoors so they could get that iconic tropical, citrus-punching sound in a modern LED tent. Two seeds sprouted immediately away, and the growth went well for 114 days. The atmosphere was quiet, the canopy was shaped, and on harvest day, the buds lived up to their Hawaiian reputation: they were sticky, dense, and full of tropical smoke.

Grow Diary
Weeks 1 & 2 – Germination & Seedling
The first day went well since two seeds cracked right away. After four days, the two were still healthy, but the third one didn't make it. The seedlings grew into strong, healthy starts under the Spider Farmer LEDs. Biggerbud420 said that Maui Waui exhibited strength very quickly—those Hawaiian roots wouldn't stop growing. The temperature stayed the same at 27 °C throughout day and night, which was perfect for the sprouts to grow.

Weeks 3 & 4 – Early Vegetation
By the third week, the plants had grown new green mass, and their leaves were spreading out with the unmistakable sativa lean of Maui Waui. Around week four, Biggerbud420 started to top, which made a lot of heads grow and laid the stage for a wide canopy. Advanced Nutrients were carefully added to the plants, and they didn't burn, which kept the color of the leaves rich and even. The setting maintained the same, so training could start without any tension.

Weeks 5 & 6 – Vegetation & First Training
Low Stress Training (LST) was used here to draw branches out and make sure that light was evenly distributed across the canopy. The topping had worked, and the side branches were starting to fill up. Biggerbud420 said that the "leaf health and structure [were] on point," and the Maui Waui clearly liked the balance of Greenleaf Nutrients because there were no evidence of deficiency or overfeeding. The plants had a nice, level spread beneath the SF-4000's light by the end of week six.

Weeks 7 & 8 – Transition to Flower
Topping came back in week seven to maintain the structure tight and focused. By the eighth week, pre-flowers were starting to show up, and LST was still in charge of the new stretch. The LEDs covered everything, and the grower's expertise showed in the canopy, which promised a lot of flower sites. The plants were in fantastic shape—healthy, under control, and ready to bloom big time.

Weeks 9 & 10 – Early Flowering
The stretch sped up now that blossoming had definitely started. In week nine, LST was used again to keep the canopy even and stop any one cola from taking over. The room smelled like tropical fruits, which made people think of the zesty punch that was about to arrive. The temperature stayed at a steady 27 °C, which kept the internodal spacing tight and made it easy to see the trichome production even in the first several weeks. Biggerbud420 kept the feedings on track, and the plants didn't seem to be stressed at all.

Weeks 11 & 12 – Mid Flower
At this moment, the buds on Maui Waui were growing into thick clusters on each branch. The farmer had a garden full with stacking colas thanks to the topping and LST work. The beautiful green leaves were full of color and showed no signs of fading. Biggerbud420 said they were happy with the structure and health of the plants. "On point" was the theme, and the blossoms started to frost profusely as the weather stayed the same.

Weeks 13 & 14 – Peak Flower
The plants were at their best when the resin glands were full and the room smelled stronger. Maui Waui had that sweet, fruity smell with a hint of citrus, just like a tropical drink. Buds got thicker, and by the fourteenth week, the trichomes were mature and had a mix of hazy heads. The canopy looked the same all over, and each cola seemed like it would be heavy.

Weeks 15–17 – Ripening & Harvest
The last stretch was a countdown to the harvest. Biggerbud420 kept the atmosphere locked in, which let the plants grow fully without any stress. On day 114, it was time to harvest, and the buds were exactly what they said they would be: thick and sticky, and they smoked like a "tropical tidal wave." The grower gave it a 10 out of 10 and praised the strain for its taste, effects, and the fun of growing it.

Detailed Observations & Grower’s Reflections
The Maui Waui had the traditional sativa vigor, yet it was still easy to control when topped and LSTed. The leaves stayed healthy the whole time, which shows that the nutrients were well-balanced. The grower was happy with how the plant responded to training and often pointed out its structure and vitality. The tropical smoke report confirmed the payoff: thick buds, sticky resin, and that delicious Hawaiian flavor coming through.
Challenges & Solutions
The biggest problem was that the seeds didn't germinate well, and only two of them did. The run went quite well after that. Topping and LST made sure that the canopy was well-managed, so that stretch didn't take over the room. Keeping the temperature stable and being attentive with nutrients stopped problems like burn or deficiency from happening.
Harvest & Post-Harvest Insights
At the end of harvest on day 114, there were 116 gram of dry bud per plant on two plants. The grower was quite happy with the results, which were graded as "Easy" in difficulty. The smoke had tropical citrus flavors and made people feel good, just like Maui is known for. Biggerbud420 ended with excitement, saying they would love to cultivate this classic again.
