Grow Diary

Weeks 1 & 2: Vegetation

Durban Poison got off to a quick start, pushing through the coco with youthful energy. The Mars Hydro LED kept the brightness steady, which helped keep the nodes close together. Manakin set up the nutrient schedule using Fox Farm's grow formulas. At first, he was a little careful with the feeds to avoid burning. The temperature stayed nice at 25 °C, and the humidity stayed high at 55%. A little bit of HST and topping by Week 2 set the stage for our sativa star to get bushier in the future.

Weeks 3 & 4: Vegetation

The Durban Poison plant grew taller and branched out a lot, which shows that it really liked the Terra Aquatica drink. The leaves stayed lush and bright because the pH was just right at 6.2. A faint smell of sweet earth started to come from the leaves, which was a nice hint of what was to come. FIMing kept the growth close together and got us ready for ScrOG.

Weeks 5 & 6: Vegetation

LST started to work, and the branches quickly spread out when they were gently pushed. The coco medium drained perfectly, which was great for the roots. The ScrOG net filled up quickly, which showed how careful Manakin was and how good Durban Poison's genetics were. The temperature and humidity stayed the same, which is what every grower dreams of.

Weeks 7 & 8: Flowering

When the flowers started to bloom, tiny white pistils popped up all over the place, which was the unmistakable thrill of early bloom. Mars Hydro lighting stayed steady, so there was no stress. Durban Poison stretched out nicely, filling up the ScrOG net, and Botanicare nutrients made the blooms look even better. To keep mold from growing, the airflow was kept steady.

Weeks 9 & 10: Flowering

In the middle of the bloom, the buds got thicker and sweet, peppery smells filled the grow space. Manakin changed the amounts of nutrients a little, adding more potassium and phosphorus. To stop bud rot, the humidity was lowered to 50%. The temperature stayed around 25 °C during the day and 23 °C at night, which was perfect for making those flowers grow.

Weeks 11 & 12: Flowering

It's frost city, everyone! Under the LEDs, the trichomes looked like tiny diamonds. Bud density increased as a result of the right nutrient ratios. Durban Poison showed off her sativa roots with long, elegant buds that were strong but delicate. There were no signs of pests during daily inspections; this grow was textbook clean.

Weeks 13: Flowering & Harvest Prep

The final flush started, and the smell was at its best: sweet, spicy, and a little bit like licorice. Trichome checks showed that the clouds were perfectly covering the area and were just starting to turn amber. Manakin kept an eye on the humidity, which was a perfect 45%, to make sure the finish was perfect.
