Island Sweet Skunk

Island Sweet Skunk, aka ISS, is a native Canadian strain created by modifying the legendary Skunk #1. Despite its creation and popularity in Vancouver, it has since become a worldwide phenomenon beloved from the West Coast of the USA to Amsterdam. 

Its skunky origins and tropical fruity notes, to which it owes its name, mimic the sensation of spending time on a sun-drenched deserted island with a citrus cocktail.

This Sativa-dominant hybrid (80%) was created by crossing Sweet Pink Grapefruit with Skunk #1, resulting in a sweet and skunky flavour profile that Skunk-lovers will adore. 

With a high THC level (23%) and very little CBD (0.4%), Island Sweet Skunk delivers an energetic and uplifting high typical of Sativa varieties.

Growing Information

Island Sweet Skunk has excellent potential both indoors and outdoors. However, it does grow tall, making outdoor and greenhouse growing more favorable. If you have space and ventilation, you can take things indoors. This strain is more manageable than many Sativa-dominant varieties to grow. 

While beginners should have little trouble with this robust strain, some experience goes a long way. It is resistant to mould and mildew, but ventilation and filtration will be needed to control the potent aroma. Due to the heavy buds, it benefits from some branch support during flowering.

Control the humidity (at around 50%) to achieve greater yields, and prune to keep the indoor environment tidy. Island Sweet Skunk thrives outdoors thanks to the larger, open space. It can reach heights of up to 250 cm, which is because the plant's stretching and growth spurts can be considerable.

While greater yields are possible in dry and warm climates, it doesn't mind the occasional rain shower. However, the sweet, tropical smell is captivating, so plant in remote or discreet areas if necessary.

Island Sweet Skunk is the perfect greenhouse plant if you'd like to control the climate more thoroughly. It grows tall and fast without constant maintenance.

Island Sweet Skunk can be trimmed and topped, but it can reach between 150 and 250 cm outdoors in its full glory. The plant is more compact for indoor growers, at 125 to 175 cm. Still, growth spurts can occur, turning It into a very tall and slender plant.

With proper care and control, you can reap exceptional yields of up to 700 grams per plant outdoors. Thanks to the extraordinary growth potential in open spaces, this impressive yield is possible. Indoors, you can still achieve impressive harvests of up to 600 grams per m².
