Gorilla Glue (GG4) is a legendary strain that growers all over the world love. It is a sticky beacon of happiness. But Jef79 didn't just talk the talk; he also walked the walk. This diary tells the story of the ups, downs, and sticky times that come with growing one of cannabis culture's most sought-after strains, Gorilla Glue feminised.

Jef79, who has been growing plants for years, jumped into this grow with a Mars Hydro TS 1000 and the best nutrient mix of BioBizz and Advanced Nutrients. Let's see how everything turned out.

Grow Diary

Weeks 1 & 2: Vegetation

The adventure started off well, with Gorilla Glue seeds popping up happily in the rich soil. The Mars Hydro kept things bright and green, with temperatures around 25 °C and humidity in the mid-50s. Like a pro DJ hitting the sweet spot, the pH was set to 6.3. Those little seedlings looked good right away with just a little water and some mild BioBizz nutrition.

Weeks 3 & 4: Vegetation

This two-week period saw some training sessions added to the game: Starting off week 3 with a top, followed by gentle Low-Stress Training to help horizontal growth. The plants did very well, spreading out and getting bushy. Advanced Nutrients gave plants small boosts of nutrients that were carefully planned to avoid burning and encourage healthy growth. What does it smell like? Still subtle, but hints of dampness started to appear.

Weeks 5 & 6: Vegetation

Things got really thick really quickly—GG4 exploded into a lot of leaves, soaking up light and filling the tent from edge to edge. At this point, the weather was stable every day, with temperatures around 24 °C and humidity around 55%. The pH level stayed stable at 6.3. The LST methods really worked well here, making sure that no one branch got all the light. Gorilla Glue's genetic strength is very clear.

Weeks 7 & 8: Flowering Begins

The flowers start to bloom. It's time to move on! We changed the lights to 12/12, and the plants didn't miss a beat. Within a few days, early bud sites showed up, promising a future full of resin. The smells got much stronger, with sweet, earthy, and diesel undertones teasing the nose. BioBizz Bloom came along and gave the extra phosphorus needed for big bud growth.

Weeks 9 & 10: Flowering

People rave about this GG4: the resin glands started to shine like tiny stars, the buds grew quickly, and the dense nuggets took on a clear shape. To keep mould from growing, it was very important to keep the temperature between 22 °C-25 °C and the humidity between 50 and 55 percent. Jef79 worked hard on defoliation, and it paid off big time because it kept the air flow great.

Weeks 11 & 12: Late Flowering

During this important time, the buds got a lot thicker, and they were all sticky to the touch because they were covered in trichomes. Advanced Nutrients gave that last PK boost, which made those colas thick and heavy. Daily checks of the air kept the environment perfect. The smell was now very strong and unmistakably bad, with chocolatey notes that hinted at Gorilla Glue's famous lineage.

Weeks 13 & 14: Flush & Final Checks

The flush was steady, which meant that the soil got clean water, which made the last smoke smooth and tasty. Plants started to turn naturally autumnal colours, which meant they were ready. The bud density was great, showing that GG4 really is a heavyweight. It was hard not to cut early, but I was able to wait.

Harvest & Post-Harvest Reflections

The moment of truth came: with sticky scissors in hand, I cut the buds off and hung them to dry for almost ten days at 55% humidity. The final dry yield was an impressive 162 gram, which was what Gorilla Glue genetics promised: strong, sticky buds.

The smoke was, as expected, amazing. It smelled earthy, sweet, and diesel-y, and it made you feel very relaxed and happy, and if you smoked too much, it could make you couch-lock. It gave GG4 fans exactly what they wanted: strong happiness with strong flavour.

As Jef79 finished his journey with Gorilla Glue, it became clear why this strain is still so popular with both home growers and experts. It has the perfect mix of stickiness, strength, and reward for home growers.
