Grow Diary
Weeks 1 & 2 – Seedling Stage
The custom coco coir and perlite mix made it easy for Strawberry Kush seedlings to germinate. They grew strong and evenly under the gentle warmth of the 250W HPS. The temperature stayed between 75.2 °F and 78.8 °F, and the humidity was around 60%. Nutrient feeds started out slowly so that seedlings could get the nutrients they needed without getting shocked.
Weeks 3 & 4 – Vegetation Stage
Weeks 3 and 4 were marked by fast growth, with thick leaves spreading quickly. In week 4, NordicCropz added topping, which encouraged more than one main cola. The 250W HPS made the plants grow quickly, which helped make strong stems and dense leaf structures. With careful monitoring to keep the pH at the right level of 5.8–6.2, the strength of the nutrients slowly rose.
Weeks 5 & 6 – Late Vegetation & Early Training
NordicCropz started LST (low-stress training) during these weeks to improve the structure of the canopy and expose more bud sites. Also, ScrOG netting was put up in week 5 to make sure the canopy was even. In week 5, removing the leaves made it easier for air and light to get through. Plants did well in temperatures between 73.4 °F and 80.6 °F and humidity levels around 55%.
Weeks 7 & 8 – Early Flowering & ScrOG Management
Changing to a 400W HPS started the flowering process perfectly. Strawberry Kush reacted by quickly growing white pistils and bud sites that were ready to bloom. The ScrOG method made sure that flowering branches were spread out evenly, which increased the amount of fruit that could be grown. In week 7, more leaves fell off, which improved airflow and focused energy on growing buds. Nutrients for blooming plants completely replaced vegetative feed.
Weeks 9 & 10 – Mid Flowering Development
During these weeks, buds started to grow quickly and make more resin. The grow tent smelled sweet and like strawberries. NordicCropz kept making careful adjustments to the ScrOG and defoliated again in week 9 to make sure there was good airflow and light exposure. The nutrients were carefully balanced so that the buds could grow resin-rich without burning the tips or not getting enough of them.
Weeks 11 & 12 – Flowering Progression & Maintenance
Weeks 11 and 12 saw an impressive increase in the density and size of bud structures. The trichomes looked frosty, which meant they were very strong. Defoliation in week 11 kept the canopy healthy and free of mold problems. We kept making changes to the ScrOG so that all of the bud sites were evenly lit by the strong 400W HPS light. Conditions got stable at 71.6 °F-78.8 °F, and the humidity fell to 45–50%.
Weeks 13 & 14 – Ripening & Flushing
The last few weeks were all about carefully ripening and getting nutrients out of the coco. Buds grew to their full size, showing bright colors and a lot of trichomes. Instead of nutrient feeds, regular plain-water flushes were used to improve the flavor. The plants grew very well, and the mostly milky-white trichomes showed that they were at their peak ripeness.
Week 15 – Final Flush & Preparation for Harvest
In the last week, NordicCropz gave Strawberry Kush a good flush to get rid of any leftover nutrients. The smell was strong, with strawberries, sweet fruits, and the classic Kush earthiness all coming through. Final defoliation and ScrOG adjustments improved air flow, making sure that the buds were ready for harvest in the best possible condition.
Detailed Observations & Grower's Reflections
The Strawberry Kush Feminized from NordicCropz was strong and responded very well to training methods like topping, LST, and especially ScrOG. The HPS 250W/400W lighting system that was chosen gave the right amount of light for thick bud growth and a lot of resin production. Defoliation was very helpful for keeping plants healthy and making sure they grew in the best possible conditions.
Challenges & Solutions
The main problem was keeping the humidity levels low enough to stop mold from growing when the buds were forming. NordicCropz did a great job of this by strategically defoliating and carefully managing the ScrOG canopy. The grower showed that they could quickly meet the plants' needs by making small changes to the nutrients to avoid burning and keep growth steady.
Harvest & Post-Harvest Insights
The harvest happened at the end of week 15, and for the next two weeks, careful trimming and drying took place. The buds were dried slowly at a steady temperature and humidity, which kept their rich terpene profiles.
Parameter | Result |
---|---|
Wet Yield | 4.4 oz per plant |
Smoke Profile | Sweet strawberry, rich earth, subtle Kush undertones, balanced relaxing high with cerebral uplift |
Difficulty | Moderate—well-suited to intermediate growers familiar with ScrOG and defoliation techniques |
NordicCropz finished this grow cycle very happy with the strong yields, bright terpene profiles, and high potency. Strawberry Kush Feminized gave exactly the high-quality results that were expected, making it a clear choice for a repeat favorite.
