Grow Diary

Weeks 1 & 2: Vegetation

The Pineapple Express started off strong, growing confidently out of the coco coir in the soft light of the ViparSpectra P600 (100W). Advanced Nutrients gave a balanced feed at half strength, so the nutrients were just right. The humidity was just right at about 60%, and the temperature stayed at a nice 75.2 °F. The first two weeks went by quickly and without any problems. There was just a lot of growth and a hint of fruitiness in the air that hinted at what was to come.

Weeks 3 & 4: Vegetation

These weeks saw a rapid increase in growth. Question_a_pig began some gentle LST, carefully shaping the young plants into a bushy, well-shaped canopy. The humidity was slowly lowered to about 55%, and the temperature stayed between 73.4 °F and 78.8 °F. A light smell of sweet pineapple started to fill the tent, which made everyone feel good.

Weeks 5 & 6: Early Flowering

The bloom officially began, and Pineapple Express was not shy about it. The plants had impressive bud sites when they were stretched out a bit. Advanced Nutrients bloom boosters were added to the feeding schedule, and some careful defoliation made the canopy more open so that air and light could get in better. The humidity was brought down to about 50%, which kept mold from sneaking up on us.

Weeks 7 & 8: Mid Flowering

Question_a_pig noticed that the buds were getting thicker and frostier, and there was a strong pineapple smell in the air. The grow tent turned into a tropical paradise with temperatures always around 77 °F. There were more bud sites, and resin started to shine under the Mars Hydro's LED light. It was clear that the defoliation worked, because those beautiful buds got the attention they deserved.

Weeks 9 & 10: Late Flowering

The Pineapple Express really showed what it could do as it entered the home stretch. The thick buds with golden pistils and a layer of frost looked perfect. The smells were so sweet that they made you feel high, and the plants were flushing nicely, taking in pure pH'd water to get rid of extra nutrients.

Harvest & Post-Harvest Insights

The harvest happened at the end of week 10. After drying, Question_a_pig produced a good amount of about 120 grams per plant, which is impressive for the small setup. The buds smelled and tasted exactly like the name of the strain: tropical, sweet, and very pineapple-like.
