CBD Purple Kush Auto was grown by All_our_small_plants in a mixed indoor and outdoor setup. The plant started under LED in a small Spider Farmer tent before being moved outside into the garden.

This was a CBD-heavy autoflower from WeedSeedsExpress, listed as Purple Kush CBD Auto x Purple Afghan CBD Auto. The diary gives the cannabinoid split as 19% CBD and 0.5% THC, with mostly Indica-leaning genetics.

So, this was never about chasing a heavy THC hit. The interest here was colour, CBD content, outdoor performance, and how well this purple auto would handle a simple garden grow.

Autos do not give you much room for delay. The early weeks matter, and once flowering starts, there is not much time left to correct the shape of the plant. This diary shows that clearly.

Here is how CBD Purple Kush Auto performed from germination to the end of the run.

Grow Diary

Weeks 0-2 - Germination, Seedling Growth & Outdoor Move

All_our_small_plants started CBD Purple Kush Auto directly in the substrate. The seed went into a coco swelling pellet placed into soil, with four lentils planted nearby as companion plants.

The idea was to let the lentils help bind nitrogen early, then remove them after roughly two weeks.

The seed had germinated by April 23, 2025. Early conditions were logged at 20 °C, 68% humidity, pH 5.8, EC 0.2, and 200 µmol/m²/s PPFD.

The first few days were not perfect. By day 4, the grower noted that the tent had become too dry and the young leaves were hanging down slightly.

The plant recovered, but the launch was not as vigorous as it could have been.

By week 1, she was 4 cm tall under an 18-hour light schedule. Day temperatures sat around 21°C, with nights around 19 °C.

Watering was around 0.5 liters every three days, and feeding started lightly with organic grow fertilizer, Bio-Down, and CalMag.

The plant was healthy enough, but she was slow. By day 8, the grower already noted that she was behind the White Truffle growing nearby. By day 14, she still looked delayed, although the overall condition had improved.

Week 2 followed the same line. She stayed at 4 cm, remained under 18 hours of light, and continued receiving 0.5 liters every three days. The feed was adjusted to a mineral NPK 7-3-5, with Bio-Down and CalMag still in the mix.

On day 19, the grower moved her into the outdoor area. At that point, the hope was simple: better light, more airflow, and a more natural rhythm might help her push harder.

Weeks 3-4 - Outdoor Transition, Transplant & Early Stretch

Week 3 was the shift from protected seedling to outdoor plant.

CBD Purple Kush Auto was now outside, waiting to be planted properly into the ground. The diary logged her at 30 cm, which was a big jump from the earlier 4 cm entries.

She was still listed under an 18-hour light schedule, with pH 5.8, 200 PPM, and 0.5 liters watering volume.

On day 23, the grower gave one more indoor-style feed using mineral NPK 10-4-7, Bio-Down, and CalMag. After that, the plan was to move her over to nettle slurry once she was settled outdoors.

LST and defoliation were logged during this stage, but the later notes suggest this was not a heavily trained plant. She was mostly allowed to grow out naturally.

By week 4, she was planted outside properly. On day 26, the grower put her into the earth and watered her with homemade Brenneseljauche, a nettle slurry with an EC of around 1.4.

The weekly data showed pH 6.0, 700 PPM, and 1.5 liters watering every three days. By day 30, she had recovered well from transplanting.

The main concern was shape. The grower noted that she had become quite long and had not really been trained. That meant the plant had gained height, but the frame was still not especially full.

For an autoflower, that matters. Once the plant starts pushing toward flower, there is not much time left to build missing structure.

Weeks 5-6 - Stretch, Shape & Early Flower

Week 5 brought the biggest height jump of the run.

CBD Purple Kush Auto was logged at 75 cm, with the light schedule down to 16 hours. pH sat at 6.0, TDS was 700 PPM, and watering had increased to 5 liters every three days. The feed stayed simple, with 200 ml of nettle slurry in the mix.

Smell was still weak at this stage. The bigger issue was the way the plant was developing.

By day 39, the grower wrote that the plant looked strange, not really how they had imagined it, and would probably only produce a few buds. That was the first clear sign that the height was not translating into strong flower sites.

Week 6 marked the start of flower. The plant stayed at 75 cm, still under a 16-hour light schedule, with pH 6.2 and 700 PPM. Smell moved up to normal, and watering remained at 5 liters every three days with nettle slurry.

By day 44, the grower noted that she was flowering, but development was still limited. There was one main bud and a small amount of lower growth.

The structure was narrow, and the plant had not filled out in the way you would want from a productive auto.

The strongest visual trait at this point was the colour. Purple tones were starting to come through, giving the plant some real appeal even though the flower mass was light.

By day 46, she was watered again with nettle slurry. No major pest issue, disease problem, or obvious feeding mistake was reported. The plant was alive, coloured, and moving through flower, but she still looked underbuilt.

Weeks 7-8 - Purple Colour, Light Bud Mass & Heat

By week 7, CBD Purple Kush Auto was still 75cm.

The numbers stayed consistent: 16 hours of light, pH 6.2, 700 PPM, 5 liters of water every three days, and 200 ml of nettle slurry.

Smell was logged as weak this week, although the grower noted that the aroma gave the impression of a larger plant than the structure actually showed.

That was the pattern of the run by this stage. The plant had color. It had some smell. It had enough going on to stay interesting. What it did not have was much bud mass.

Hot weather dried out the ground by day 53, so the grower watered again. By day 56, the plant was being described as very long and thin, with limited flower development.

Week 8 brought hotter conditions, with daytime temperature logged at 30 °C. The plant stayed at 75 cm, pH remained 6.2, TDS stayed at 700 PPM, and smell moved back up to normal.

On day 60, she was watered again with nettle slurry.

The colour was still the best part of the plant. The grower liked how she looked, but the overall development was below expectations. She was sparse, thin, and not stacking much weight.

The grower estimated that she might only produce around 10 grams.

At this point, the run looked like a small-yield outdoor auto with good colour but very limited flower production.

Week 9 - Hermaphrodite Flowers & Early End

Day 61 ended the grow.

The grower found that CBD Purple Kush Auto had turned hermaphrodite and developed a lot of male flowers. She was also standing beside Membrana, which was already flowering.

The plant was removed straight away to protect the nearby flowering plant from pollination.

There was no proper dry harvest, cure, smoke test, or CBD effect report. The diary listed 15g wet bud weight per plant, one plant, normal difficulty, and a final rating of 4/10.

After removal, the plant was composted.

Detailed Observations & Grower’s Reflections

CBD Purple Kush Auto had a slow start and never fully made up for it.

Germination was successful, but the first two weeks were sluggish.

The plant lagged behind the White Truffle, dealt with low humidity early on, and did not show the kind of early push that usually gives autoflowers their best chance at a strong frame.

The outdoor move helped her gain height, but not density. She reached 75 cm, yet the side branching stayed limited. By flower, most of the action was around one main bud, with only a small amount of lower growth.

The colour was easily the strongest trait in this run. Purple tones became more visible late in flower, and the plant had better visual appeal than the structure suggested.

The smell also improved later, becoming stronger than expected for such a light plant.

The problem was simple: the plant never turned that colour and aroma into enough flower mass.

Once male flowers appeared, the grower made the right decision and removed the plant before it could affect the rest of the garden.

Challenges & Solutions

The first issue was slow early growth. CBD Purple Kush Auto stayed behind from week 1 through week 2. The grower responded with light feeding, CalMag prevention, and an outdoor move to see whether natural conditions would help.

Low humidity was also noted early. By day 4, the tent had become too dry, and the young leaves were hanging downward. The plant recovered, but early stress is never ideal with autoflowers.

The next challenge was structure. Once outdoors, the plant stretched but did not build much lateral growth. She reached 75 cm, but the overall shape stayed long and sparse.

Heat and dry soil came later in the run. By day 53, hot weather had dried the ground, so the grower watered again. Outdoor grows always come with a bit of weather management, and this one was no different.

The final problem was hermaphroditism. On day 61, the grower found many male flowers and destroyed the plant immediately. That protected the nearby flowering Membrana from possible pollination.

Final Result and Strain Review

Based on this diary, CBD Purple Kush Auto showed good colour and stronger late aroma, but did not deliver a usable finish.

The purple tones were the clear highlight. Late in flower, the plant looked attractive and stood out in the garden. The smell also became stronger than expected, especially considering how little flower mass was present.

The weakness was structure. She stretched without filling out, stayed thin through flower, and produced limited bud mass. Before the grow ended, the grower was already expecting only a very small yield.

There was no proper dry harvest, cure, smoke test, or final CBD effect report. The official diary result was 15g wet bud weight, normal difficulty, and a 4/10 rating. In practical terms, this was a terminated grow after male flowers appeared.

One grow diary does not define the whole strain. Outdoor autos can be sensitive to early stress, weather, timing, and phenotype variation. Still, based strictly on this run, CBD Purple Kush Auto was disappointing.

Good colour. Stronger late smell. Weak structure. Low bud mass. No usable finish.
