Natrona picked Love Potion Auto for a Valentine’s-themed run with WeedSeedsExpress. Pink Rozay and Blue Cheese were part of the line-up too, bringing the wine and cheese references to the occasion.
Love Potion needed a second invitation.
The first seed failed to germinate, so Natrona started again. Its replacement emerged on January 12, 2025, by which point the other plants already had a head start.
The grow took place indoors, in soil under LED lighting, with several plants sharing an AC Infinity tent. With the replacement finally above ground, Natrona could start following Love Potion’s progress alongside the rest.

Grow Diary
Weeks 1-2 - The Replacement Gets Going
The first week’s update was brief. Love Potion had emerged on January 12, and Natrona described the seedling as happy.
Its recorded height was just [2.54:cm].
By week 2, that had increased to [10.16:cm], or four inches, which Natrona also confirmed in the written notes. There wasn’t a great deal of commentary on its development at this point. After the trouble with the first seed, the replacement was at least up and growing.

Weeks 3-4 - Early Training and a Wait for Flowers
Natrona started working on the plant in week 3, logging topping, low-stress training and defoliation. The height after topping was 10.16 cm.
Preflowers appeared on January 31, although the entry was still classed as vegetation.
Love Potion remained in the vegetative section of the diary for week 4 as well. Natrona thought the earlier topping had delayed flowering, particularly with the neighbouring plants already further along.
It hadn’t stopped growing, though.
By February 7, the plant measured [22.86:cm]. Some branches stood above the others, and Natrona was still describing its progress as slow compared with the rest of the tent.

Weeks 5-6 - Into Flower, Then a Scare
Flowering finally appeared in the week 5 entry.
Love Potion reached [35.56:cm], with the branches continuing to grow and some limbs still sitting higher than others. Natrona’s attention was now split between the plant’s shape and its first flowers.
During week 6, the buds began producing more hairs while the plant kept adding leaves. Height reached [45.72:cm], and Natrona measured the width at a little over 24 inches.
Then came an unpleasant Saturday morning.
On opening the tent, Natrona found Love Potion badly drooping and described it as dehydrated. None of the other plants looked the same. The change was enough to leave the grower worried about whether Love Potion would survive.
At that stage, Natrona specifically said there were no apparent nutrient problems on the plant.

Weeks 7-8 - Bud Growth and Feeding Worries
The week 7 notes were more encouraging about the flowers. Buds were expanding, white hairs were plentiful, and trichomes were beginning to form.
Feeding was becoming a concern across the grow, however.
Natrona believed the plants had been overfed and hoped that dealing with it before Love Potion caught up with its neighbours would prevent burnt tips from appearing.
By week 8, the concern had shifted. Following the earlier corrective work, Natrona was now describing signs of nutrient deficiency and thought Love Potion needed more feed than the other plants.
The flowers continued producing fresh white hairs, but trichome development was still at an early stage. Love Potion and Pink Rozay were both taking longer to mature than the rest.
There were plenty of small, thin leaves too. While handling the plant, Natrona noticed neither an obvious smell nor any stickiness.

Weeks 9-10 - Burnt Tips and Slow Progress
The leaf damage was clear in Natrona’s week 9 description: brown tips, burning and upward curling.
Fresh white hairs were still forming, but the grower felt trichome production remained limited. Love Potion was short and sturdy, with branches strong enough to carry its buds.
The eventual trim was already on Natrona’s mind.
Small leaves ran throughout the flowers, and the grower wasn’t looking forward to working through them.
Week 10 brought little relief. Some pistils had turned orange and brown, although new white hairs continued to appear.
The plant was also taking up less water. Its pot stayed heavy between checks, leaving Natrona questioning what was happening below the surface.
The grower suspected that overfeeding, nutrient depletion and excessive defoliation had all played a part. Love Potion still needed more time, but Natrona was becoming doubtful about how well it would finish.

Weeks 11-12 - A Little More Weight in the Buds
Natrona wasn’t happy with the flowers in week 11.
The description was of leafy, underdeveloped buds with limited trichomes, most of the heads still clear. Water uptake remained slow, and the persistently heavy pot led the grower to suspect nutrient lockout.
Earlier decisions were coming under scrutiny too. Natrona wondered whether the training and defoliation had been too much for this plant.
There was finally something more encouraging to write about in week 12.
The buds had begun filling out and felt denser to the touch. Natrona’s trichome checks still showed mostly clear heads, but some milky ones were appearing.
Love Potion now had the smaller tent to itself, with the other plants already harvested. The damaged leaf tips and slow water uptake remained concerns, even as the flowers started gaining size.

Weeks 13-14 - Closing In on Harvest
The fuller buds carried through into week 13. Natrona again described them as gaining size and feeling dense, with fresh white pistils continuing to appear.
The trichomes were still mostly clear with some milky heads. Water uptake hadn’t picked up much either, and the pot continued to feel heavy.
By week 14, the trichome assessment had changed to mostly milky. Natrona mentioned a few amber heads in the April 6 check, followed by a final look on April 11.
This was now the last week before harvest in the grower’s notes.

Week 15 - Harvest and Drying
The harvest entry lists 12.6 oz of wet bud weight from one plant.
The date is less straightforward. One account gives April 12, 2025, while another says April 15. The stated grow times disagree as well, with 90 and 91 days in the written notes and 100 days in the page summary. There isn’t one reliable total to pull from those entries.
Natrona dried the harvest for 20 days, then questioned whether it had been left drying too long.
The final dry bud weight came to 1.8 oz.

Detailed Observations & Grower’s Reflections
Natrona had second thoughts about the training during the later flowering weeks.
Some of the work had come from trying techniques seen from more experienced growers. As Love Potion struggled, Natrona questioned whether the amount of training and leaf removal had contributed to its problems.
The harvest comments were less critical. Looking back, the grower felt that Love Potion seemed to have tolerated the training, despite the doubts expressed earlier.
Natrona also credited the plant with strong resistance to mould, bud rot and pests during the run.
Flower density was another point where the assessment changed.
In weeks 12 and 13, the buds were beginning to feel firm on the plant. Once dried, Natrona described them as loose and airy. The later improvement in flower development hadn’t delivered the dense finished buds the grower had expected.
Challenges & Solutions
Replacing the failed seed got the grow started. The later problems proved harder to put behind it.
After the dehydration scare in week 6, the notes became increasingly concerned with feeding and slow development. Natrona made adjustments, but descriptions of damaged leaves and nutrient problems continued through flowering.
The grower’s explanation evolved along the way. First came concern about overfeeding, then nutrient deficiency after the corrective work, followed by suspected lockout when water uptake slowed. Natrona also questioned whether too much defoliation had made matters worse.
There wasn’t a point where Natrona declared the problem solved.
Even in the harvest review, the grower said Love Potion hadn’t recovered from the overfeeding and subsequent flushing. The buds did gain size later on, but Natrona’s final account stopped short of calling that a full recovery.
Final Result and Strain Review
Love Potion Auto finished with 1.8 oz of dried buds and a final recorded height of [45.72:cm].
Bud density was the disappointment. Natrona had felt firmer flowers on the living plant, only to find them loose and airy after drying.
The flavour received a much warmer review.
During drying, the aroma was sweet and fruity. In the jar, Natrona picked out pine alongside the sweetness. The taste followed with fruit and a candy-like sweetness.
After vaping, Natrona described an energising effect that came on soon, with better focus and a creative lift. Feeling happy and uplifted lasted for a few hours. Dry mouth and dry eyes were also noted.
The final rating was 8/10, with the difficulty marked Easy. That was Natrona’s verdict at harvest, even after the doubts and frustrations recorded through flowering.
