Afghani Auto

Afghani autoflower, sometimes called Afghan weed, traces its roots back to the original Kush plants from the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.

This legendary strain (not to be confused with Afghan Kush) is one of the most potent pure Indica strains and is renowned for its sturdy genetics, potent effects, fragrant buds, and distinctively sweet, herbal, earthy taste.

In the 1970s, just before the war on cannabis began, this fantastic variety found its way to the US, where it gained massive popularity.

It was "Sam the Skunkman" Watson, founder of one of the world's first cannabis seed banks, who allegedly brought 250,000 marijuana seeds, including Afghani, to the Netherlands.

The original Afghani was crossed with a potent ruderalis there, resulting in the strain we know and love today.

A pure Indica grown in less than three months, Afghani auto is the strain for the indica lover with little patience. To enhance resilience and shorten its lifecycle, the original Afghani was mixed with a cannabis species called Ruderalis.

Ruderalis, originally from northern regions like Asia, Central/Eastern Europe, and Russia, can adjust to harsh climates and shorter growing seasons. Because of this, Ruderalis will flower automatically once the plants reach a certain level of maturity regardless of hours of (sun)light.

Furthermore, Ruderalis genetics are known to be remarkably resilient and sturdy in adapting to the extreme conditions of their origin region.

Growing Information

Growing Afghani autoflowering cannabis seeds indoors or outdoors is a breeze, from germination (we recommend the water glass and paper towel method) to harvest. She will thrive under all growing circumstances.

This strain has adapted to the harsh conditions of the mountain range where she originates to withstand colder temperatures. She is also mould-resistant, which is one less worry.

This strain has that classic cannabis look you would expect from a strain that has influenced the genetics of thousands of other strains. Like most Indica-dominant strains, Afghani auto plants grow short and bushy.

Dark green and broad water leaves adorn her big and long body. Her sticky buds are dense and thick, ranging from pale green to deep green, with coppery orange pistils interspersed among the frosty sugar leaves.

Since Afghani seeds, like all our autoflower strains, are feminised, your crop will be guaranteed to consist solely of female plants. 

Although Afghani auto-fem's flowering time (56–63 days) barely differs from the photoperiod variety, the most significant time gain is in the exceptionally short vegetative stage of just a few weeks. This contributes to the fact that this strain, on average, only needs 77 days from seed to harvest.

This extremely short life cycle means you can quickly achieve two complete harvests per growing season. Unlike most Sativa strains, the Afghani autoflower is the perfect choice for those living in regions with cool and short summers or growers who can't wait to sample the result.

Characteristics

The small and compact Afghani autoflowering plants will not exceed 90 cm, whether you grow indoors or outdoors. Her petite size doesn't just look adorable. This strain is also ideal for guerrilla grow operations and suitable for growing in even the smallest grow room.

Don't let the small plant size discourage you: Afghani Auto is still highly capable of providing you with a decent yield of high-quality weed. When you grow her pot seeds indoors, the average harvest will vary between 350 and 400 grams per m².

Outdoors, the yield is generally around 120 grams per cannabis plant. With her relaxing and sedative effects, it's no surprise that this pure Indica gem is immensely popular with medicinal and recreational users alike.
