And the best part? She does it all without the hassle of switching light schedules.

Expect an initial rush of euphoria and happiness, followed by a gentle wave of relaxation that keeps things nicely balanced.

But this sunny little number has more than great flavour and good vibes. She's a manageable autoflower with strong lateral branching, dense, trichome-covered buds, and indoor yields of 450 to 550 gram per m2. Add a straightforward growing experience and a 75 to 100-day lifecycle, and you've got a seriously attractive option for growers of all experience levels.

Strain Overview

Florida Sunrise Auto is a feminised, sativa-dominant autoflower with approximately 60% sativa, 30% indica, and 10% ruderalis genetics. She combines the energetic personality of her Florida Sunrise parent with the convenience of automatic flowering, producing compact, resin-rich plants with a tropical citrus flavour profile and a medium-to-high intensity high.

Origin

Florida Sunrise Auto comes from crossing Florida Sunrise with autoflowering ruderalis genetics. The idea is straightforward: take the bright, uplifting character of Florida Sunrise and add autoflowering, regardless of light cycle changes. The result is a versatile hybrid that brings together sativa-leaning effects, relatively compact growth, and the convenience that makes modern autoflowers so popular.

Effects & flavours

If you're a fan of fruity, citrus-heavy strains, Florida Sunrise Auto is right up your alley. First, you'll notice a bright burst of freshly peeled orange and zesty lemon, quickly followed by sweet, juicy pineapple. Then comes a smooth vanilla sweetness that rounds everything out beautifully. Think tropical fruit salad with a little citrus sherbet thrown in for good measure. Delicious stuff.

The effects are just as sunny as the flavour. Expect an uplifting, energetic cerebral buzz that brings happiness and euphoria, making this a particularly appealing daytime strain. As the high develops, a softer, relaxing sensation joins the party without completely taking over. With medium-to-high intensity, there's plenty of character here, so newcomers to stronger cannabis should take things slowly.

THC & CBD Levels

Florida Sunrise Auto comes in at approximately 20% THC, putting her comfortably in the potent category without pushing into the extreme territory of some modern hybrids. It has enough strength to deliver a noticeable, energetic high, while the more relaxing side of its genetics helps balance the overall experience. CBD sits at around 0.5%, so make no mistake, THC is very much the main attraction.

Terpenes

The Florida Sunrise Auto terpene profile is complex, and that's exactly what makes her so appealing. Limonene brings a sharp, fresh citrus character, while beta-caryophyllene adds a subtle peppery edge that keeps the fruitiness from becoming overwhelming. Alpha-pinene contributes a fresh, pine-like note, alpha-humulene adds an earthy, herbal layer, and beta-myrcene rounds everything out with a softer, musky fruitiness. Together, they create a lively, layered aroma that smells every bit as tropical as the name suggests.

Growing Florida Sunrise Auto Seeds

Grow Difficulty

Florida Sunrise Auto is a great option for newer growers, but experienced cultivators will enjoy it too. Her autoflowering genetics eliminate the need to change lighting schedules to initiate flowering, making the process a bit simpler. She also develops a dense structure with strong lateral branching, giving her plenty of potential flowering sites without becoming an enormous plant.

That said, she's not completely bulletproof. Resistance to heat, cold, drought, pests, and mould is rated medium, and her nutrient tolerance is, too. Keep conditions reasonably stable, avoid overfeeding, and don't let moisture build up around those dense flowers. SOG and SCROG setups both work, but gentle training is generally smarter with autoflowers because their vegetative window is relatively short.

Indoor vs. Outdoor Growing

Indoors, Florida Sunrise Auto stays at a manageable [70:120:cm], making her a solid candidate for smaller grow tents and spaces where vertical room is limited. Her naturally dense growth and strong side branching suit SOG arrangements, while a carefully managed SCROG can spread the canopy for better light exposure. Just remember that she's an auto, so there's little reason to go overboard with heavy-handed training.

Outdoor growers can expect heights of around [80:120:cm], with plants performing well in temperate, subtropical, and Mediterranean climates. A sunny, well-ventilated position is ideal, and greenhouse cultivation is also a perfectly viable option. Her moderate environmental resistance means she can handle some variation in conditions, but it's still important to protect those resin-rich flowers from prolonged damp weather. Give her a comfortable environment and she'll reward you with dense, predominantly green buds that may develop subtle purple tones.

Flowering Time & Yield

One of Florida Sunrise Auto's biggest selling points is her relatively quick turnaround. The full lifecycle generally takes 75 to 100 days from seed to harvest, with a flowering window of about 70 to 85 days. Since she's an autoflower, you don't need to flip the lights to trigger flowering. She handles that part herself.

As for production, Florida Sunrise Auto certainly isn't shy. Indoor growers can aim for 450 to 550 gram per m2 under favorable conditions, while outdoor plants can produce 80 to 200 gram per plant. Those are attractive figures for a compact autoflower, especially one with such a generous resin coating. Of course, final yields depend on lighting, nutrition, environmental conditions, and overall plant care, but dial in the basics and there's plenty to look forward to come harvest time.
