Grow Diary
Weeks 1 & 2: Vegetation
GrowLady started off strong; her seeds popped and sprouted quickly, showing that they were strong from the start. Under the TSL2000 300W LED, seedlings grew tall and strong, reaching for the sky. The soil stayed in great shape, with a pH of about 6.3, a temperature of 24 °C, and a humidity level of 60%. GrowLady carefully measured out the nutrients she needed, starting with Fox Farm's Grow Big for the first stage of growth.
Weeks 3 & 4: Vegetation
Growth turned into full-on vegetative happiness. Trainwreck had its usual hybrid vigor, with bushy growth and strong side branches that grew quickly. We started LST carefully by bending the stems gently to get the most light to the canopy. Topping made a lot of main colas stand out. Advanced Nutrients joined the nutrient plan to help plants grow quickly. The environment stayed the same, which was great for early cannabis dreams.
Weeks 5 & 6: Vegetation/Flowering Transition
The transition to flowering went well, but there were some classic Trainwreck sass moments. For example, sudden height spikes needed more aggressive defoliation. The doses of nutrients smoothly changed to blends that boost blooms. GrowLady kept a close eye on the environment, keeping the temperature between 22 °C and 25 °C and the humidity around 50%. It was time to see the magic happen.
Weeks 7 & 8: Flowering
Bloom was a sight to see: it was green, smelled good, and the flowers were already sparkling with trichomes. Bud sites grew like popcorn. The smell got a lot stronger, and a spicy-sweet symphony took over. Advanced Nutrients' Bloom series increased the amount of nutrients. There was a small nitrogen deficiency, but it was quickly fixed by changing the feedings.
Weeks 9 & 10: Flowering
The buds got really big. Each flower had that classic Trainwreck smell of pine, lemon, and a hint of pepper. It was thick and covered in resin. Airflow was very important; GrowLady made sure that it kept mould away and that the humidity dropped even more, to about 45%. The temperatures stayed the same, and LST adjustments let more light reach the lower bud sites.
Weeks 11 & 12: Flowering/Harvest Prep
In the last few weeks, the pistils turned dark and the calyxes swelled, which meant they were ripe. Flushing started with only pure, pH-balanced water to make sure the flavours were smooth. The trichome inspection showed that the potency was at its highest—milky with hints of amber. It was almost time to harvest, and everyone was excited.
Detailed Observations & Grower's Reflections
Trainwreck feminised was a strong and hardy strain that was both responsive and demanding throughout this grow. Managing your height took a lot of work, but it was clearly worth it. GrowLady said with a laugh, "She kept me on my toes—almost literally." A true diva, but one who is very generous with her time.
Challenges & Solutions
Some of the problems were quick vertical growth and changing the nutrients during bloom. Both were handled very well with careful LST, timely topping, and nutrient recalibration. Advanced Nutrients was very helpful in making sure that growth stayed steady without burning out.
